See further details in FAQ - Showcases
> How many songs will I perform?
A minimum of one (1) is required. You will have a 12 - 15 minute showcase, time enough for 3 or 4 average length songs.
> Do I have to perform the songs myself?
Either you or someone you arrange must perform the songs live. We realize many (or most) songwriters are not great singers. This is not a problem.
> I write both gospel and country. Can I do both in my showcase?
You can, however judges score you only on the Category for which you are registered. In other words, if you register for an Writer - Pop showcase and sing gospel, the gospel songs will not count toward your score.
> How is scoring done?
Judges score numerically on a wide spectrum of technical writing, form, and content factors. Performance quality is not a factor as long as the song is performed on key. Individual scores are totalled and averaged to determine winners.
> What time of day is my showcase?
See "PROGRAMME" on the main front page. The final Event Programme is in a password protected area available only to registered contestants and General Admission ticket holders.
> Do all the songs I perform (or have performed) have to be originals written by me?
For Writer Field, yes. No exceptions.
> What about rights? Do I give up any rights showcasing my songs at SSNI?
You retain all rights to your songs and performances at SSNI. See "Waiver of Liability" ("Privacy"; "Terms of Use") for details. Your song or songs may be used on TV, broadcast digitally, or appear on the SSNI CD.
