Company History - Who is SSNI Star Search Nashville & Trowbridge Symposium?
HISTORY
Trowbridge Publishing was founded in 1983. Trowbridge Symposium ran its first year 1999, and has grown into SSNI Star Search Nashville International, the top Nashville career workshop and showcase event for singers, songwriters, and artists. Meet executives, hit writers, and talent scouts and learn from them in this insider event for all genres, all ages, and all styles of music.
SSNI Star Search Nashville International is a wholly-owned subsidiary of McClure & Trowbridge Publishing Ltd.
During 2002, we coined the name "Nashville Star Search"[tm] and filed for trademark protection with the USPTO office. We started using the name, as "Trowbridge Symposium - Star Search Nashville[tm]".
In 2007 we changed our name to "Star Search Nashville International" or "SSNI".
WHAT ARE "STAR SEARCH" and "NASHVILLE STAR"?
The name "Star Search" was trademarked by Ed McMahon. His company was bought out and the trademark was renewed in 1997 by a California entity.
In 2002, they saw our "Star Search Nashville"[tm] and subsequently launched "Nashville Star". They called us before they started using the name, and carefully avoided using "Nashville Star Search"[tm].
